Postcards from Green Cape

Hello from Ben Boyd National Park, the home of the first concrete-made lighthouse in Australia.

This magnificent lighthouse is hidden within the national park on the pristine Sapphire Coast. This beautiful spot is located roughly halfway between Sydney and Melbourne and locally about 1 hour from Eden. You don’t need a 4x4 to get here but there will be a few off-road tracks teasing you along the way.

The coastline is absolutely mesmerising here. Reading about the wreckages many years ago, you notice how unforgiving it would have been here. With no reception here, I sat waiting and watching how big the waves got as they crashed against the cliffs. With each passing wave, the more powerful they seemed.

With picnic tables spotted around the lighthouse, it’s a glorious spot to stay for a bite to eat and a little venturing as well.
With love, Tara x
