Soothing Homemade Bath Bomb Recipe

Looking to elevate your bath time with a touch of DIY pampering?

This easy bath bomb recipe we created is perfect for crafting your own indulgent, fizzy bath treats at home.
Made with natural ingredients like soothing coconut oil and coconut milk powder, these bath bombs create a luxurious milky bath without leaving any residue in the tub. The combination is wonderfully nourishing for the skin and ideal for winding down after a long day. Choose from beautiful rose, calming lavender or energising orange essential oils, harnessing the power of scent to either kickstart your day or help you relax into the evening.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup baking soda

  • 1/4 cup citric acid

  • 1/4 cup coconut powdered milk

  • 1/4 cup epsom salts

  • 1.5 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 20 drops of essential oil

  • Spray bottle with witch hazel or rubbing alcohol

  • Lavender buds or rose petals, for topping (optional)

  • Use silicone ice tray as a mould or purchase round bath bomb moulds online.

Method:

PREPARE THE DRY MIXTURE:

In a medium-sized bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Whisk to combine.

  • Mix Essential Oils with Oil:

    • In a separate small bowl, combine the coconut oil and essential oils, mixing well.

  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

    • Slowly pour the coconut oil mixture over the dry ingredients, whisking while pouring.

    • Spray with witch hazel while stirring until the bath bomb mixture holds its shape when you squeeze it in your hand.

    Shape the Bombs:

    • Add rose petals or lavender to bottom of bath bomb mould.

    • Overfill one half of the bath bomb mold with the mixture. Then overfill the other half. Push the two pieces together and give a slight twist.

    Let Them Dry:

    • Let the bath bombs sit in the mold for hours if possible to dry and harden. Or place on a tray to dry in a cool place.

    Store or Use:

    • Once dry, unmold the bath bombs and store them in an airtight container until ready to use.

    • To use, drop one in a warm bath or place it on the floor of the shower for a spa-like experience.

Enjoy your homemade bath bombs!
